Bedtime fairytales
This summer’s outdoor screenings also bring the 8th Kraków Summer Animation Days (4-7 August), moving this year to the friendly setting of the Szczepański Square to present the best animations from the last season. The programme includes feature-length films such as Little From The Fish Shop (dir. Jan Balej) – a moving interpretation of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid – and The Magic Mountain (dir. Anca Damian) telling the story of Jacek Winkler, a Polish anti-communist who fought against the Soviet Union in the Soviet-Afghan war during the 1980s. The organisers Rotunda Association and Studio A have been joined by the Kraków Festival Office to prepare other attractions for kids: free animation workshops and “Games Without Electricity”.
