What’s the best way of expending energy? Going for a stroll may be enough for adults, but kids usually need something more exciting. In any case, we all need exercise and fresh air! All signs point to a frosty winter, so let’s go ice skating. The Wolnica Square hosts a special skating rink recalling Jewish traditions, sponsored by the Krakow Festival Office. “We stress the special nature of the location, presenting an ice rink not just as a place for skating but as somewhere existing in harmony with its surroundings, aware of its heritage and character.” We will be entertained by specially prepared compositions and DJ sets combining winter and Christmas music with Jewish motifs. And since one cannot live by skating alone, the programme also features plenty of accompanying events: workshops centred around the Jewish festivals of Hanukkah and Purim, and figure skating displays.
The ice rink is open between 8 December and 25 February.
