For the last 11 years, the Museum of Krakow and its associated institutions have been encouraging Cracovians and visitors to learn about the history and present day of Nowa Huta. This year, the former social realist city built for workers at the Lenin Steelworks and now a district of Kraków celebrates its 70th anniversary. It’s no wonder, then, that the programmeDrop in to Huta! is looking even more promising than usual! On Sunday, there is a special English-language guided tour Nowa Huta for Beginners prepared especially for visitor from abroad (22 September, 1pm, starting at the Museum of Nowa Huta, 1 Centrum E Housing Estate). In the evening (6pm), join us for an outdoor concert Nowa Huta – City of God (Nowa Huta. Why Not?! cycle), held in the heart of the former workers’ city at Róż Avenue. (dd)
