Festival-filled October

30 September 2020

Held in person, online or in a hybrid format, all festivals come together to shape Kraków’s culture and showcase its ability to respond to and evolve in the face of the rapidly changing situation. Unsound, Copernicus, Patchlab, Conrad – this year all these acclaimed festivals will be mainly held online. Some events are held in a hybrid format, for example 7xGospel, and some are even open to the public (while maintaining all health & safety precautions); they include the International Book Fair in Krakow, the Student Song Festival, Jazz Juniors and KRAKERS presenting art in countless locations throughout Kraków. And while we’re on the subject of exhibitions, the Museum of Krakow, MOCAK and the National Museum in Krakow are all launching prestigious new presentations within their walls.

Let’s also remember that state-of-the-art technologies are increasingly being used to help artists share their work with ever-expanding audiences. An example, pioneering on the national scale, is the PLAY KRAKÓW platform, providing access to growing numbers of concerts, performances and entire festivals, presented as recordings and live streams. In November, the entire Sacrum Profanum festival is streamed via PLAY KRAKÓW, with a prologue held in late October.

Let’s switch on culture!
