Expanding dyes

You will need:

  • half a glass of salt
  • half a glass of flour
  • half a glass of water
  • food dyes

Method:

Mix the flour, salt and water until you get a uniform paste. Divide it out between three or four containers, and add a different dye to each.

Use the paste to draw on paper – you can do it with your fingers!

Place your drawing in a microwave set to 800W for 30 seconds

As the dye dries, it expands, lifts up from the paper and hardens to produce amazing spatial effects.
