Chinese Whispers

A game for a large group of kids.

Everyone sits down in a circle. One of the participants thinks of a word or a phrase and whispers it in the ear of the person next to them. They whisper it in turn to the next person, and so on, until the message has gone the full circle. If it arrives in its original form, the next person in the circle starts the next round. If someone muddles the message along the way, they have to forfeit something – for example a shoe or badge they are wearing.

At the end of the game, the participants come up with a challenge which needs to be completed to get back the forfeits – for example sing a song or tell a poem.
