In the new permanent exhibition at the Krzysztofory Palace, history, magic and legend intertwine with contemporary daily life to create a diverse, colourful and fascinating story about Kraków and its residents.
The Lajkonik’s outfit, Cracovian nativity scenes, the 17th-century silver cockerel of the Fowler Brotherhood, the ring and sceptre of the city’s mayors, the 18th-century counter of the Kraków Merchants Guild, artworks signed by artists such as Jan Matejko, Józef Mehoffer, Zofia Stryjeńska, Jacek Malczewski, Wojciech Weiss and Vlastimil Hoffman… These and many other items from the museum’s collections and accompanying artistic installations comprise the latest permanent exhibition of the Museum of Kraków at the freshly renovated Krzysztofory Palace.
