42 to Happiness
For many people, completing a marathon is a dream. The run requires sacrifices – it’s a huge challenge for the whole body, from the muscles and skeleton to the circulatory and respiratory systems. You need to start training six months in advance, get the right running shoes, eat more carbohydrates, and – like Forrest Gump – keep on going on step by step. Sunshine, snow, rain – you need to run between 50 and 100 kilometres every week!
The 15th PZU Cracovia Marathon will reveal those who have withstood the training regime in preparation for the start. Almost 7000 runners gather at the Rynek Główny on 15 May to take on this royal distance.
If you’re not up to the whole 42 kilometres With History in the Background, there are also shorter distances during events of the Kraków Running Meetings cycle. The Mini Cracovia Marathon, night run, pair and family runs, runs in ties… between 13 and 15 May there is something for all fitness fanatics.
PS. The most tenacious runners will be delighted to hear of the latest event: the Kraków Running Triad. Everyone who completes the 15th PZU Cracovia Marathon, the 10th PZU Three Mound Run and the 3rd PZU Cracovia Royal Half-Marathon in 2016 will be presented with a certificate and a statuette to commemorate their achievement.
