Painted Dragons
Parisian blue, Pompeii rose, burnt sienna? Or simply blue, red and yellow? Cracovian dragons come in all colours, and this year their scales will be decorated with fine art tints. The 1
6th Great Dragon Parade reaches for inspiration to the imaginations of Europe’s master artists.
On Saturday evening, there will be an invasion of flying and swimming monsters during the outdoor spectacle on the Vistula. Actors from the Groteska Theatre present their huge creations filled with air in a magical atmosphere created by music, lights and pyrotechnics. On Sunday, the dragons come down to earth to be joined by children for the traditional parade along Grodzka Street from Wawel Castle to the Main Market Square for a beauty competition. Throughout the weekend, the boulevards by the Dragon’s Den host family picnics.
