For kids, reading books is a real treat: there are colourful pictures, incredible stories, fun poems and of course time spent with their parents. In turn, parents know that reading exercises kids’ memories, expands their vocabularies, stimulates their imaginations, teaches to express their emotions, develops their sense of aesthetic… we could go on and on. The Children’s Literature Festival combines these two points of view and hopes to inspire youngsters to reach for fascinating and valuable books. This year, the best and latest releases will feature alongside somewhat forgotten classics. Between 6 and 11 June, we return to our favourite nursery rhymes, read poems and listen to absorbing tales and stories. There will also be events held in English with the South African poet Antjie Krog and the creator of Elspeth Hart, Sarah Forbes.

This year’s festival culminates with a gala presenting the Ferdinand the Great Prize for Best Polish Children’s Book of 2016, featuring a sparkling live concert!
