This year’s centenary of Poland regaining its independence has inspired institutions all over the country, including the organisers of the Archaeological Picnic. On 27 May, the gardens of the Museum of Archaeology host events introducing Poland’s long history, revealing the different stages of Polish statehood and presenting routes which took us towards regaining independence in 1918 after over a century of partitions. Kids can admire ironsmiths at work, attend pottery workshops or try their hand at archery.
